RESA Updates

RESA is a member run trade organization. We are dedicated to making this industry stronger for the customers we serve and professional stagers. In order to do that we band together to make RESA what we want it to be. The members contribute on a daily basis to the growth of the organization.  

We have a national government that consists of 12 regions:

 

12 Regional Vice Presidents that each is responsible for 3-5 states:

RVP's are also the Executive Committee- the Executive Committee forms policies, procedures, new programs. Everyone has a voice, a vote, input, ideas etc. These are the people that represent the members in their areas.

 

State Presidents: Each SP is there to assist local chapter growth. They too have a voice. If they have an idea they bring it forward and then they are an active part in getting that idea put into a policy or procedure etc. 

 

Local chapters: Network with other professional stagers- this helps everyone have a better understand about staging issues at the local level. When they all talk about what is going on they come up with solutions TOGETHER. This could be anything from getting proper information out to agents to helping stagers realize that there is more to staging then what they may be practicing. That in turn will increase the quality of staging practices. The more chapters that do this the faster it happens all over North America.

 

Individual Members: Individual members also have a voice. Penny Schoenbeck came up with an idea to have RESA develop a quality control survey for members to be able to get feedback from their clients. She worked on the development of this program and we launched the Staging Excellence Program several months ago. It was received very well! Some other circumstances came about in the last few months that allowed us to make this program grow into the Staging Excellence Alliance. This is a better business bureau type program for professional stagers. I will explain more later.

 

I know many stagers are new to the industry and do not understand the concept of the "trade organization". I have been involved in this industry for almost 5 yrs and I am very involved with a real estate trade organization The Women's Council of Realtors. I love it; it is the best thing that has happened to me business wise. I am still invovled and on the board for a 4th term in my area.  I know and understand the relevance and importance of trade associations.  This again is why RESA was formed so stagers would have the same opportunity as Realtors.

 

What we have accomplished

 

April 19th 2007- Launched the RESA website.

 

April 2007- Vista Print- A special website was developed from Vista Print for RESA members. This site offers business cards, brochures, postcards, t-shirts, mugs, flyers etc. All aspects of marketing materials. RESA members get 10% off their normal pricing PLUS Zero upload fees. Upload fees are normally $4.99 per upload, so if you do a flyer with Your photo, your logo, and a before and after photo that would be $19.96 with regular Vista Print and you save $19.96 with RESA.

 

Vitallia Insurance (US)- Great insurance brokers, great insurance, they give RESA members $50.00 off their application fees. Give amazing service.

Statistics- RESA has formulated the easiest way feasible to track staging statistics. Real Estate Agents and Homeowners want to get some "proof" on how staging benefits them. The best way to show someone is to have a statistic. ALL stagers can input and should input the statistics on the houses they have staged. If you have statistics for houses that go back a year put them in. This system will track all dates and we can track trends. But it wont work if you don't use it! RESA will make these available to NAR, the public and everyone that wants them.

RESA Needs members in order to get special deals. I pitched the idea of getting instant membership to the CSP's, the President and CEO LOVED what RESA was standing for, believed in it and 600 of their students became RESA Members. CSP pays a monthly fee to RESA for their memberships.

Education for the Public

Agent, Home Owners, and Stagers PDF information flyers were created and posted on the home page of RESA in order to further education to the public.

New Website

The first website was just not giving us what we needed.  We found and launched a new site that has profile pages, photo pages and tacks all of our memberships. It's awesome!

Lowering Rental Fees

Linda Sticklin posted on the high cost of Rental Fees. I am now taking with one of the GM's of a major rental company to see if there is room to do something about this and how we can work together.
