California design community:

As we have been predicting, a practice act bill similar to SB 1312 to regulate interior design could be on its way.

Allegedly, some of ASID's CA leadership recently met with the Interior Design Coalition of California (IDCC) lobbyist in San Diego.  We have also been told of large "donations" made to CA legislators over the last 12 months. 

In addition, IDCC has been sending out emails which attempt to discredit CA's current voluntary, non-taxpayer funded certification administered by CCIDC. 

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to read the writing on the wall.

IDPC members and sponsors will be kept up-to-date on any legislation, and if/when a bill is introduced, our members will receive pertinent information  including bill analysis, talking points, legislator contact information, sample letters, hearing dates, and all other updates pertinent to defeating this bill.
