Originally a native of New York City suburbia, my Southern rooted parents planted the seeds for my growing interest in real estate improvements and investment properties from an early age. The appreciation did not bloom until much later. In preparation for their own financial retirement future, their real estate investments contributed as a major influence in their children’s upbringing. My parents raised their two daughters with Southern etiquettes and old-fashioned work ethics. While benefitting from family trips and vacation homes, we were also expected to contribute to the care and appreciation of their rental properties with “sweat equity.” My allowances earnings growing up were largely contributed from yard maintenance and summer paintings of those properties. Later in life as my parent’s health declined, I unexpectedly inherited the responsibility to run and maintain these properties. Through the necessity of experience, I adopted a respect for home ownership, whether it be a primary or an investment property, and the rewards of home equity. As a designer, I offer empathy for the homeowner is unable to see past the aesthetic and functional obstacles of their current structure to the vision of opportunities.

This journey largely influenced the addition of home staging to my business model. With the 2019 inception of my company in Dallas, TX, I initially introduced my 15+ years as a kitchen and bath designer to homeowners through personalized designs and installations of their kitchen and bath redesigned spaces. As a certified ASP Home Stager, my professional home staging and consultations further benefit homeowners, realtors, and investors through strategically and visually prepared homes targeted to their specific buyer. I now look forward to doing the same for Nashville, TN area homes while growing Heart of the Home Styling & Designs closer to family with my new home base in Franklin.
